Linwood Care Residents Services is a 16+ semi-independent accommodation that provides a diverse range of support for young people not just a place to live. We specialise in facilitating Supported Semi-Independent Living with tailored person-centred approach. We help our service users develop their independent skills and give them the tools needed to live a fulfilling life.
We cater for young people 16+ with mild learning disabilities such ADHD, Autism and Asperger’s or challenging behaviour. Our placement provides long term placement, respites and interim support. We even extend our support to outreach in the local community.
We support our young people to overcome childhood trauma, addictions, daily living challenges such as CCE and CSE risks. Our staff members are trained to offer both emotional and practical support. We train our staff to be acute listeners as this is one of the most effective skills to have when working with young people particularly with challenging behaviour as a lot of their complex needs is due to lack of trust in authority or some sort of trauma or exploitation.
We work with a wide range of organisations that offer behavioural therapy, mentoring and trauma support. Our staff are PMVA trained in supporting high risk young people, such as ex-offenders and complex behaviour. DoLS provision can also be provided.
Our Woodcote accommodation is the fitting setting to offer these support as it is a 6-bedroom Edwardian home, with a sensory room, large communal spaces and a vast garden to roam and get fresh air. We are located in the suburban area of Coulsdon, where we are local to countryside, parks, golf courses, horse riding range and other activities. These open spaces have proven to be beneficial to our young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
We work alongside local authorities across England in supporting 16+ young people find their right path in life by navigating them in developing their daily living skills, academic aspirations and career path as they transition into adulthood.
